Strange Behavior with Acoustic Feedback in the Key Editor

I enter a note with the Pencil Tool and extend it to the right to specify the length I need. The acoustic feedback is on and every time the note crosses the Quantize specified grid (1/16 or 1/8 or whatever), the sample from my virtual instrument replays from the beginning. For example, instead of hearing one TAAAAAAA until I release the note, I get TA TA TA TA TA TA TA TA. What’s the problem here?

That is the designed behaviour of this function. It is there to hear the pitch of the note, not really to hear how the tone develops over time.

No, this is a new behavior that developed in the last few days. The sample definitely stutters.

Ok, I thought you meant something else.
No idea. On my system it only plays TAAAAA.

Upon further examination I see that what is happening is that with every crossing of the vertical grid line (quantize grid), there is a CC1 message fired to reset the instrument dynamics to 0 and then it fires up to the proper volume. Hence the stuttering effect.

I went to the Preferences > MIDI > Chase Events and unticked Controller. This stopped the stuttering behavior during the acoustic feedback while entering the note but then completely messed up the volume of other instruments during playback. I still don’t know how to solve this.

I ticked the Never Reset Chased Controllers and this seems to have fixed it.
