Up to a point, changing key signatures at the start of a new system caused a normal cautionary key signatures to appear at the end of the previous system.
I think I may have stuffed things up at a later point: I assigned independent key signatures to the brass and woods where the key of the piece goes to F# major (not realising in a moment of stupidity that Dorico would automatically change the clarinets and trumpets to Ab instead of G# because of instrument’s transposition).
At that point the cautionary accidentals only appeared in the strings and nowhere else (the harp and times are already set to not make use of any key signatures).
Even after trying to set the global key to F# this remained.
Oh my word. Had I but know, I could have perhaps avoided this from happening. But thanks for the reply. At least one knows not to spend time trying to resolve it.
OK. I managing to solve it. I figured my attempt to just add a global key signature and override the independent ones kept failing so I added an empty bar before the key change and changed the key in that empty bar. Moving it to the next system, there it was - cautionary key signature at end of previous system as always. I just had to then copy-paste the music into the empty bar, delete the problem bar and readjust the layout and some slurs.
