Strange behaviour when importing a MusicXML file

Hello
When I want to use note names in a Dorico project I need to export the file as a XML file and work with the XSLT script from this topic:
https://forums.steinberg.net/t/note-names-in-dorico/935274/16

Then I import the XML file again. Since Dorico 5.1.60, time signatures are now shown on every special bar line (repeat, double…). This was not the case in the previous version.

To delete these, I have to delete the special bar lines and insert them again.

It seems to be a bug in Dorico 5.1.60. Or do I miss anything?

Could you post an example of an XML file that shows this problem?

Check this file.

  1. Choose a time signature.
  2. File > Select More (CTRL/CMD + SHIFT A) until you have all of them.
  3. CTRL/CMD + Click the first time signature to deselect it.
  4. Use Properties to Hide Time Signatures

@Derrek
Thanks for this. It makes it easier to delete all these unnecessary time signatures. They can also be deleted after selecting.

But it does not solve the XML-problem, even if it is only a very small problem.

In Dorico a bar line change is a time signature (change). Since (IIRC) this does not always mean bar line changes from XML manifest as visible time signature, I would propose that this is something in the XML that trips this in Dorico–and it is easy enough to fix, unlike some instances where voices an rhythms become tangles in XML imports.

Those time signatures are there in the MusicXML, and indeed you get the same result if you import them into an older version (e.g. Dorico v4). So I think the difference must be in the export rather than the import. Could you post the original Dorico file that you are exporting?

Here’s the Dorico file.
This problem did not happen with the previous version of Dorico.
I imported the file also in Finale 27 without problems, no additional time signatures.

This looks like a MusicXML export problem in 5.1.60 - we’ll have to take a look.

The problem is solved with version 5.1.70.
