Hi @t.wille, can you upload your Dorico Project, to see what is going on?
Hi @t.wille, and thank you for the file.
I have no idea why Dorico puts a single Bracket for some Soprano staves.
You can remove it easily in Engrave mode (select it and delete).
It always happens, when the solo soprano has no own staff. So it seems to be some strange condensing effect.
Ok, I can remove each single one manually. However, this seems not to be an elegant solution.
Is there any better way?
Torsten
If you remove the first one, it will be removed to end of flow.
I don’t know if this is better, but has something to do with the uncheckmarked solo alto, tenor and bass from the flow.
I tried reactivating them in the flow (from Setup, select the flow and and checkmark all the other solo singers). Doing so the bracket disappears.
You can then hide them again using manual staff visibility.
(But this may change the Parts layouts…).
Edit:
This ist Strange since I cannot reproduce the issue in a fresh project. I noticed that in your project you renamed the Instruments and players manually, instead of using the Soloist functionality in the setup contextual menu for the player:
But even resetting this an putting the Soloists in a group, didn’t solve the bracket.
Here you can see in a fresh project that, in a situation like yours (with some soloists unchecked from the flow), just putting the choir into a group eliminates the bracket. on the sopranos. I tried looking for the differences between the projects in the Library manager, but with no result.
Edit 2:
@t.wille You can also choose this layout Option, to get rid of the bracket, depending on the overall result (it influences also the condensed staves):
