I encountered a very strange bug today:
I opened up a recent project, and one of the tracks produced no audio (it was a VST track with Groove Agent in it) when I played it in context of the project.
However, when I solo’d the track, it played back just fine?!
This hadn’t happened before (this is a project that’s been around for a while), and after I duplicated the track, the duplicated track worked as it should (i.e. played back even if I didn’t solo it). So I just deleted the troublesome track, and moved on with my day with the duplicated track.
I still wanted to post this here, in case somebody else has encountered this, so that they can find the workaround (duplicating the track).
Must be some strange edge case bug. I should mention that the track has some mute automation on it, but the section of the project I played back the mute automation turned mute off, so that’s not it, but maybe some weird initialization bug when automation is involved? Who knows, just throwing ideas out there…
