Strange connection Piccolo - timpani

Happy new year everyone!

I’m seeing a strange connection between the piccolo and the timpani in my orchestral score. Sometimes (not systematically) when I select say the entire flute section to play back, I also hear the timpani. Another time (again, not systematically) I pasted something into the piccolo part and it also appeared in the timpani part…

Any ideas how I might uncouple these two (magnificently opposed) instruments?

You would need to attach your project (or a cut-down version) so that people can best diagnose what’s going on.

I am guessing the piccolo is the first staff in your score. I have a lot of trouble with the piccolo part–first in score order–suddenly playing a different instrument. To fix that, I go into PLAY mode, open the mixer, and click the piccolo. I have no idea what goes wrong or why that fixes it.
