I recently downloaded an avg tuneup program and it messed up my Cubase essential 5 software. it said that one of my plugins contained a Trojan which is strange because it’s a legit free one (PM Arptron). Also when I open up a project I get a weird grinding noise on the stereo out tracks. Is there anything I can do about this?

Bummer. 
If it really did mess up CE5 something may have gotten corrupted.
One approach would be to:
1-un-install ‘avg tuneup program’.
2-completely un-install and re-install CE5.

I found out what it was. Along with the PC tuneup prog I got AVG free. Had to disable the antivirus to stop the threat alert and the grinding noise. Weird, but it works for now.
