Strange issue! everytime I bounce, the file degrades qual

I have the most bizarre issue with this new track I am working on, everytime I bounce an audiofile, the quality of the file degrades, If i copy an audio track flip the phase on it so it nulls… you can hear the audio change everytime i select file and choose bounce selection…

it’s completely bizzarre… and only replicatable in this project!.. i’ll have to try to recreate the project

I am mentioning it here just incase someone else has come acrosss this… or if you start to hear strange things happen check to see if you are having the same issue (audiowarp is off)

the test is

  1. add an audio sample (make sure warp is off)
  2. duplicate it, reverse phase
  3. select > bounce selection

for me the sound starts degrading on the bounced chan

so strange…

also it’s not just bouncing, i can hear the sound degrade after the first record. if i’m recording a synth, when i play back the recording the transients have changed slightly and it sounds different to the source…

I take it you’re not recording to some compressed format (like MP3)?

Or listening through some fx in the channel which are not bounced into the file? I had this sometimes.

hi, thanks for your replies,

however… this was internal bouncing so external FX wouldn’t be added, also im sure there inst an option to record internal chans as mp3 …

i worked out what it was doing however… it was applying one of the timestretch algorithms to all tracks even though the button wasn’t checked…

i fixed by exporting all chans to a brand new project…

it was very very strange!

just thought i would mention here incase anyone else notices weird behaviour
