Swapping between other audio programs, audio interfaces including bluetooth audio (AirPods etc.) can change settings inadvertently as @rpearl has mentioned. The Dorico settings are kind of hidden away in both those windows and it is not obvious to know both are there to check (until you know to do this!) along with your audio interface settings.
