Strange save setting since the latest update

Since the latest update, WL directly saves a file when I double-click a folder in the save dialogue.

How can I get rid of that behaviour?

This is fixed in the upcoming WaveLab 12.0.50, normally this week.
In the mean time, don’t save from the WaveLab file browser (there is an option for this)

I have the exact same issue since the 12.0.40 update. I’ve also noticed that when rendering multiple projects, the rendered files don’t open in WaveLab once the rendering is complete. However, the “Open resulting file” option is checked.
