Streamdeck update for Dorico 6?

oddly, my Streamdeck worked fine yesterday, and even this morning.
But somehow, late this afternoon, Dorico 6 no longer responds to any of my Streamdeck’s buttons.

Has anyone else come across this?

I accidentally opened Dorico 5 this afternoon, and now I’m wondering if this somehow messed up my SD’s commands.

Is there any news as to when an updated set of commands for Dorico 6 and the Streamdeck will be available? (I know this isn’t necessarily the right place to ask, but maybe someone here is “in the know”.)

Since @pianoleo & @benwiggy have both had input into past Streamdeck iterations (IIRC) and @Philip_R (othman) publishes it, this seems an ideal place to raise the subject.

In time, yes, we’ll put out an upgrade to Notation Express to take advantage of some of the new features in Dorico 6. But for the moment, Notation Express for Dorico 5 should work just fine on Dorico 6.

If you find that it’s not working for whatever reason, be sure that in Dorico 6’s Preferences, in Remote, that Enable remote control is checked and that the Port is set to 4560.

The first time that you open Dorico 6, you’ll get the popup asking you to authorize the connection between Notation Express and Dorico, but subsequently you won’t need to do so.

If you find that you’re not getting the popup and you can’t control Dorico with the Notation Express profile, try a few routine troubleshooting steps like unplugging and reconnecting the Stream Deck, and rebooting the computer.

You don’t want to have Dorico 5 and Dorico 6 open at the same time, because the Stream Deck doesn’t differentiate between the two. I’m not sure of all the ramifications there, but generally it’s not recommended to have two versions of Dorico running at once.

Let me know if you’re able to resolve the issue and if so what the step(s) you took were. If you’ve run through all of the usual steps and are still having problems connecting, please report back as well.

You might want to attribute the solution to Philip, that way the solution will appear below the original post (rather than “it works, thank you”)

Nothing to do with me!

I think you mean Pietzcker and me (for German and French versions, when they were a necessity)

[Edit] Apologies to Tim Pietzcker, and thanks to @Philip_R for his vigilance!

@MarcLarcher Since we’re trying to give credit where it’s due, it’s @Pietzcker  But I’m very happy it’s all working now.
