Stuttering

Since the last update, I have been experiencing the following problem, see video screenshot. The cursor stutters. I have taken a screenshot of my settings. Does anyone have any idea what could be causing this? Whereby the sound does not stutter.

P.S. Seemed to be solved. I just switched the Balance one more to RAM. No stutter. Then back to Disk, so its 50/50. Still no stutter.

P.P.S no solution, stutter back ….

It’s really strange. After my p.p.s., I went back into the settings. I shifted the balance back to RAM, but that didn’t help. Back again. But what you can see on the video screenshot is that “Available Memory” is increasing. And strangely enough, the stuttering is now gone again. I had added another slot with “The Orchestral Colors.”
Could it be that Halion needs a while to load the samples?

Thank you Jan, I will do.

Contacted 24.02.26. No answer until now.

Normally, it shouldn’t take that much time. Let me check if I can do something to speed it up.

Jan

Still in conversation with Nils, but already ahead of time. I’ve now figured out what causes the “stuttering.” When Halion is in the foreground, there is no stuttering. Opened in the background, stuttering. When I bring it to the “front,” the stuttering goes away. Closed, no stuttering either. But here’s the thing. UI scaling at 0%. No stuttering, even when open in the background. Groove Agent is the same. But when I change it back to 12.5%, the stuttering goes away when open in the background. At least now I know how to avoid it.

@bigsoundsgood Thank you for keeping me informed. Are you working on Mac or PC? And what is your operating system?

Of course and Mac here, 26.3.1.

Hi Jan, just to let you know

“This is a known issue with macOS Tahoe. We are in contact with Apple but have not yet received any feedback on whether or when the issue will be resolved. As mentioned earlier, the workaround is to bring the window to the foreground or close it.”
