Sub-bracketing

In my current project I would like to use the curly braces for the instrumental groups, and square sub-brackets for the vocal groups. How can I do this in Dorico 5?

You can change the brackets in Engrave mode. Under Library->Layout Options, you can set secondary brackets to use braces, but I don’t think you can have both.

Thanks for this. It l ooks l ike you used a sub-bracket for the top and a main bracket for them bottom. I would l ike to sub-bracket pairs of stares with square sub-braackets. When I try to use sub-sub-brackets nothing shows up.

I’m not sure I understand exactly what you want. Can you draw a picture, or show an example?

Notice how in this example the instrument groups are show with curly brackets (braces), and the chorus is bracketed with a square bracket. It seems that Dorico wants me to choose one or the other for my sub-brackets for a whole project. Is there somewhat that I can include both styles in the same project? If I try to use sub-sub brackets Dorico shows me nothing,

OK, I don’t think it’s possible to have both square and curly sub-brackets at the same time, I’m afraid.

That’s what I was afraid of. Does Dorico let you put sub-sub-brackets right next to primary square brackets?

I don’t think so. You need a sub-bracket to be able to put a sub-sub-bracket.
