Submit Bug Dialogue keeps WaveLab from opening

The “Submit Bug Dialogue” I get keeps WaveLab 11 from opening.

I’m in middle of releasing a track, so not awesome. Tried reinstalling WaveLab.

Text from crash:

WaveLabPro11.exe caused ACCESS_VIOLATION in module “C:\Program Files\Steinberg\WaveLab Pro 11\WaveLabPro11.exe” at 0033:00000000411A4380, main_private()+8283680 byte(s)

If you’re in a crisis…

  1. Erase this file: \AppData\Roaming\Steinberg\WaveLab Pro 11\Preferences\General.dat

If that does not work:

  1. Erase this folder: \AppData\Roaming\Steinberg\WaveLab Pro 11\Preferences\

You can back up that Preferences folder first in case you’d like to put back any settings/preferences/presets.

Fantastic. Worked right away with just renaming .dat.

Thank you! :slight_smile:

No problem, sometimes a preference file can go corrupt or sometimes a plugin left in the global master section can cause a crash so deleting a certain preferences file (or the entire folder) often clears things up much better than just reinstalling the app which AFAIK doesn’t delete an existing Preferences folder and therefore doesn’t often fix an issue like this.
