Hello,
I have a small request for submontage naming : it’s been that way since a lot of WaveLab versions but is a bit annoying : all submontages names are truncated at the first full stop automatically.
Lot of clients use them after the track number, expl : 01.artistname_trackname or with “feat.”, etc.
Is it possible to avoid this truncation ? Some clients are very picky about their file names, and it forces to rename all full stops into something else, work with WaveLab, then remember to rechange to full stops before delivering the files.
This character “:” is not Windows compatible, hence any file using it would not be readable on Windows. I think you can remove this limitation by unchecking the following option (see picture further), but use it use it at at your own risk.
But there is a better way: use a unicode replacement that is compatible on all platforms. In that case, this could be:
Other possibilities:
• Modifier letter colon U+A789 → ꞉
→ Slightly smaller, more subtle
• Ratio symbol U+2236 → ∶
→ Mathematical look, very close visually
• Small colon U+FE55 → ﹕
→ Less common, smaller glyph
The clip is still named properly, but the montage is just 01.mon
So if later I want to create another submontage called 01. Artist Name - Track Name (Mastered) for expl, here’s what happens :
