C12 pro and C13 pro I’m having peaks on the performance meter. Just out of no where.
Never had this before . Win 10
As soon as I open a new session and I do add track. the metter peak spikes randomly when I move the mouse to open an intrument, a plugin or even just scroll into the menus.
Pretty odd.
Can 3rd party plugins do that ?

Yes, plug-in can add some (quite significant) CPU load. Also double-check, if there wasn’t any (hidden) Windows update, please.
Ok, let me verify. it is not my main system thankfully.
Will uninstall them and see if it solved the issues
Found what is causing the peaks.
Very odd.
The mouse.
I’m going to investigate further more. I don’t think the mouse is defective. Windows might be corrupt from flashing to many times the bios and changing settings. Anyhow , it is my test machine. I will try to find the issue before having to reboot from zero.

I found the cause when moving the mouse rapidly what makes the performance meter go high in Cubase 12.
Somehow even if there is only one Thunderbolt port, it kind of affected the mouse connected on usb 3
It’s a AMD B650E Chipset, using Intel thunderbolt.
The drivers were not installed. Once I installed them the high levels disappeared.
But on a side note, even if the meter was spiking from time to time, I had no performance issues.
it was kind of showing it but not affecting the workflow.
