Suddenly, no audio

I have the latest version of Dorico and the latest version of Mac. I have a Mac M3 with plenty of digital hard drive space. Everything has been working flawlessly, until today when I went to load Dorico and got several messages about the audio engine not being able to load. After several reboots and starting and quitting Dorico, I no longer get that message; now, Dorico seems to load OK with no error messages, but there is no audio. The opening screen goes by too fast for me to see each of the messages, but I don’t get an error message, and the application loads just like before and seems to function just fine with the exception of no audio.

I did not install or change anything since yesterday. All the other audio on the computer is working fine. I can write music in Dorico, but no sound is working. I ran the Dorico Diagnostics, but can’t attach the zip file here as it is larger than the 4MB limit. I have all the latest components in the Download Manager.

I am at a loss as to what to do. Help!

If you quit Dorico then try to open it straight away, it will error out as it is still in the process of closing down. I usually wait about 15 seconds or more before opening it again.

Did you try the Play menu, Playback template, change it to something else, Apply, then change it back again to whatever it was set to?

Thanks for the quick response. Waiting before reload has no effect. I did try your suggestion about the playback template, but that seems to have no effect, either.

You can upload it to a cloud service, and post here the link.

For the audio, you could check, from menu Edit > Device setup if the Asio driver says Built-in audio and, in Device control panel if your desired output is selected.
