The VST Live MODS App (iPad / iPhone) workes fine so far.
It can also display the actual setlist.
In some cases we need that the singer, the keyboard player or the drummer must start a song. It’s depend on the song.
In the moment we must handle that with 3 Midi controller pedals with cabeling sometimes accross the stage to connect those pedals.
Is it an idea to update the VST Live MODS App that a song from the displayed Setlist can also be started via VST Live MODS. Then, we do not need anymore that Midi stuff.
The idea sounds tempting. However, there’s one thing to consider: Allowing all VST Live Mod apps to start and stop songs at their users’ discretion is not without risk. Tapping on a song indavertently during a gig is, I’m afraid, much more likely than stepping on your MIDI pedal. What do you think?
I think I was kindly asking for opinions, not insults. If you think I misunderstood your cause, please, take the time to elaborate as I took my time to answer you.
Anyway Kai is right, we even already got users complaining that Parts can be selected remotely.
So we are working on a peer-based interface for Mods, where “rights” can be applied, and sources can be assigned individually (e.g. Lyrics), but it will take a bit.
opened the recent (say january) iOS MODS version 1.5.3
/* just for completely different purpose */
and I was shocked: SETLIST and it’s Start / Stop working like never ever before. @Spork ? do you know you Improoved it a lot, or u done it accidentaly while sleeping ?
(fellows note: you need to extend PARTs in VL to see “Play” icon in APP and it won’t toggle PLAY/STOP-icon also needs 2x taps for STOP… but I don’t care for now, instead smiling I can deal with this current state for now, THX )
What if a more simple trick as this is not NASA: a simple opt-in checkbox in the iOS app’s settings “allow TRANSPORT buttons” (looks me more simple writing settings-subpage rather than P2P rightsMan. What about a dedicated TRANSPORT TAB? But just my 2c.)
Agree with both of you @musicullum & @Kai_Schwirzke , PART touching is not the best place, because easy to srew up while simply Up/Down scrolling the SETLIST tab. However “we’re” here already in January:
