Suggestion: Rehersal marks as form labels ("Verse", "Chorus", "Bridge 2" etc)

Quite often, especially when working with pop music, form labels as “Verse”, “Chorus”, “Bridge 2” etc are more relevant than sequential letters or numbers.

Dorico already has the possibility to set an prefix or suffix to an individual rehersal mark by using the properties panel, wich is great.
However, it would be great if the display of letter/number could be switched off for an inidividual rehersal mark, for example by to the Sequence type property (Letters, Numbers, Bar numbers) add the value “None”. This way an individual rehersal mark could be fully customized.

Have you realised you can already set the index to 22 (for V) and then add “erse” as a suffix? Or set the index to 3 and add “horus” as a suffix?

… and you even get the proper text kerning between the index letter and the suffix!

Nice tricks, Leo and Rob!

I suppose system text with Boxed property is not good enough?

Rehearsal marks “know” how they should be positioned relative to bar lines, at the start of systems, if they would collide with tempo marks, etc. System text doesn’t obey those positioning rules.

To be honest, it just doesn’t look as good as the rehearsal marks. The padding is slightly off sometimes.

What about an option to hide the thing itself and just show the suffix, like with dynamics?

I’d find this useful too.

Yes, this would be terrrific.

Really clever, @pianoleo! Thanks!
