Hi, I’ve just installed Cubase 13.0.50 on my Windows 11 PC and realized that Supervision cannot be bypassed. Is this a bug? Anybody here with the same issue?
I think that it is OK… Some topics about this already mentioned, that it’s ok. Honestly don’t know why… but I am using in only in Control Room BTW
Thanks for your answer!
One needs to deactivate it. Alt-click on the bypass icon should achieve that. (On a Mac it’s probably option-click).
It’s arguably very consistent to have it this way, since generally the Bypass doesn’t necessarily stop a plugin from processing - it just stops Audio and MIDI modification.
However it’s arguably more user friendly and intuitive to have a Bypass button in an Analyzer plugin stop the analysis or at the very least, stop the display. Different plugin makers have taken different approaches:
For example iZotope Insight 2 also has no Bypass.
But Melda’s MAnalyzer and the Mastering the Mix Levels plugins have implemented Bypass in a way one might intuitively expect.
Some cultures value consistency higher, while others value user friendliness higher.
Having lived in both kinds of cultures, I have some personal preferences, but I can see the advantages of either approach.
