Support wait time? my 'update' is expiring and no contact

I realize there is high volume right now for support. But I recently tried to upgrade and something is wrong so I contacted support 5 days ago 9/1/2024.

Now I’m getting a “verification pending expires 9/11/2024”

So I guess I keep waiting? I would think they would “accommodate” my “pending deadline”?

Hi,

Most probably, you bought a wrong update/upgrade. Verify, which Cubase license exactly you own. Make sure, there is no Grace Period available on the license. Then verify, you bought correct update.

You can also attach screenshots here, so we can verify.

Yeah I think I bought the wrong version. It’s only for my “elements” that I like to keep on a work laptop.

I had version 11 on an old USB license and it showed version “11” even though I had upgraded to version 12 (software license I guess).

So I bought (my mistake) the upgrade from 11 (same cost). I just dont know what to DO about it. I guess I need the upgrade from 12 .

How does that work anyway? I’ve always had the usb license. When you “upgrade” from a softlicense do you need the previous version installed? Or does it “see” your Steinberg account?

Seems the “clock is ticking” because it says the upgrade is “expiring” by 9/11.

And yeah, hey that’s my ancient Cubase 4! Lol.

Hi,

Cubase 12 is not using the eLCC technology at all. Install and start Steinberg Activation Manager. You should find your Cubase Elements 12 license there.

Right - but it seems I bought the wrong update. The support responded and I sent the order number for refund so I can get the correct one.

BTW - is there a way to “clear out” (clean up?) the Steinberg Activation Manager items like old demos, etc?

Hi,

They will return the money. Buy the correct update, please.

No, you can’t remove the Trial licenses.

Thanks for the help - definitely my mistake and I’m sure it will get sorted.

My upgrade to Cubase Pro 13 worked perfectly. I chose the correct update path for that ;0
