Suppress Playback And Parts

Looked but didn’t see this topic. Sorry if I missed.

I like “suppress playback” and greyed notes, as I can look thru a score later and see if I want to add those notes, and print them in the parts.

But when printing parts, all greyed (silent!) notes are printed as well.

Is the only solution to make a “working flow” with silent notes, and a “print score” without them for printing purposes?

Thanx!

Sorry. Last paragraph should read “print flow”.

Not sure if this is what you want, but:

If you use Manual Staff Visibility, then you can Hide a staff that contains music, and it will still playback.

If you want the whole staff to not play, then you can Mute it in the Mixer, which might be easier. (If you’re using Noteperformer, you’ll have to do it in the VST.)

You can also have Layouts for printing that exclude some Players.

If you want to print the grey noteheads, you can do it by printing to PDF in color with “View options” (last box at the bottom under Annotations) checked.

Thanks benwiggy. Good ideas, and there’s probably a better way for me to work.

I can change, but what I’ve been doing is putting together the full score, and when I have a part with some measures that I wonder about, I silence those notes for playback. I look later to see if I want to add them for printing.

If I decide not to add them, \ I can just delete them, true. But then they’re gone if I change my mind.

Probably too complicated, and your idea is better.
