Surround 5.1 channel order via ARA in Pro Tools

Hi,

sometimes i have to deal with a TV series production company that uses the L C R LS RS LFE standard AND Pro Tools.
This means that when I import a region (or a selection) using ARA I want to edit from the Pro Tools session, the channels are not in the correct order when listening. I cannot use the channel remixer because it would change the order of the channels when importing the new audio into Pro Tools.

Is there a way to deal with that?

Thank you in advance…

Cheers

Claudio

Basically I need to change the order of those channels…

EDIT - deleted my previous verbose response here, after seeing @Sam_Hocking post below… Much better for you @c.januario .!

I really should stop posting in topics I have little knowledge about… :upside_down_face:

You’re being supplied Film order, but SpectraLayers is set for SMPTE order by default. You can create a Film order though in New Project > Custom Configuration then import and export should align to Film.

Thanx for the answer @Puma0382 , read you on friday but could not answer until now… don’t worry

@Sam_Hocking thanx for the hint but unfortunately I can not do what you said, whatever order of channels I select in the custom section I always end up with the same L R C LS RS LFE and also “reformat” does not work.

As far as I’ve seen I cannot do much and there’s no option like in this other software (would love to be wrong!)

Ahh, apologies, I think I was thinking of the output mapping. I thought you could could assign channels in the project too.

I guess, as long as you ignore the labels import/export should be correct. If you need to monitor in the correct order, map the channels in Audio Preferences maybe?

thanks for your answer but the master is PT anche the SL prefs are like this:
