Suspend automation follows events?

Hey guys, I have poked around on the internet and in the manual but I couldn’t seem to find anything on this. Is there a modifier key I can hold while dragging a part that temporarily suspends “Automation Follows Events”?

Also, I know there’s a command to thin out continuous MIDI data, but is there a similar function for automation? In the process of moving parts around a lot of automation points get added that don’t need to be there (all referring to the same value). I’m sure I’ve seen something like this in previous versions of Cubase but I can’t seem to find it now.

Thanks in advance for any help

Indeed, and I guess that the one involved is the following : ‘Edit / Automation follows Events’ but it doesn’t have a predefined keystroke, so it has to be defined by the user.
