I’m using NotePerformer with Dorico. I do not hear a release decay on a suspended cymbal swell (the tremolo note tied to an eighth note). The note just stops. This happens even if I change the eighth note to a longer note. Is there a way to hear the release and decay?
Not sure if this is relevant, the manual of NotePerformer mentions a tremolo bug/behavior in Dorico.
It should sustain with a longer note value (NotePerformer normally does for me), but failing that, try an l.v. tie, and if that doesn’t work, try an l.v. playing technique but extended with a continuation line (Shift+Opt+right arrow key) for the length you wish for it to sustain.
If you’re using an NPPE it could have something to do with that; I know a few of them like CinePerc have some issues with sustaining messages via NP.
