Swam and the room simulator by Ambiente issue since Cubase 14 Pro
If there are any members of this forum using the above, are you experiencing the instruments in the room simulator when the project is boot up in Cubase 14 Pro taking on new positions especially the string sections and the room itself has been changed even though you saved it correctly
I have the SWAM suite and Ambiente, but I’m still getting up to speed. I’m happy to test something for you though if you have steps I can try to reproduce.
Also, there was a 07/01/25 update to Ambiente if you were not aware - it is for “General stability improvements and bug fixes” so maybe that will help.
Edit: I sure would love for them to have an update process that doesn’t require escalation for every individual component!

I have all of the updates I troubleshoot for the company Let me know what you need
Just quick steps on reproducing the issue - or is it just as simple as saving instrument positions in a project and loading it back up?
Saving the project, reopen the recording studio and boot the project up the next day and this is when it happens It also happens when doing an audio mix down to a WAV file. This issue is random
Andrea in Milan Italy could not duplicate the problem with her current Windows 11 gear. She is in contact with me daily.
Just so happens I’m writing some string parts for a song tonight, so I’ll test it out and see. I’ll ping you back in the morning with results.
I’m glad you posted that - I’m on MacOS. Do you still want me to try?
So the only difference is you’re on an MAC and I’m on Windows 11 but let me know how you make out we got a good thread going here and maybe some others will chime in. I am on Facebook if you wanna connect

Hey there! Sorry, I’m not a “social media” person
I tested this on 2 rigs and couldn’t reproduce it. Since you indicated that this seems to change after some amount of time has elapsed, I wondered if there was some “OneDrive” or cloud utility altering something, so I did this:
Created a new project with a specific layout, and putting the sax behind the cello (hahaha). I explicitly did NOT save the preset in Ambiente, but rather, just saved it as part of my project. Multiple reloads worked as expected.
I use MacOS iCloud Drive for backups, with different sync settings for different folders. I have two production workstations, each with their own specific purpose, and I keep projects for each in their own folders, but both are saved as part of my iCloud backups. I can set each folder as “keep downloaded” on each respective workstation, but also have all files available from either one.
I went to the second workstation and opened the file directly from the “other workstation’s” folder, and it gave me errors because I hadn’t updated SWAM components. I updated them all on the 2nd workstation, and everything loaded fine:
That’s a screenshot from this morning, and everything is in the exact same place as it was last night, on both systems.
I can’t reproduce from my side, but let me know if you’d like for me to test something else. Sorry this wasn’t more help.

Thank you for putting this together, I’m hoping Andrea will answer me after the extensive test I did on my computer last night. I will open up my studio in about a half hour to see what the saved project looks like. Will stay in touch

So I finally solved my issue with the Room Simulator using Windows 11.
C:\Users\ARuss\AppData\Roaming\Audio Modeling (in my case) that needed to be deleted (always copy the folder to your desktop as a backup) I submit 2 photos, one showing an earlier date that did not update when installing the latest Swam Audio Modeling Library and the other showing that after Installing the same update allowing "Authorize To ALL, shows those folders got updated in the folder path above. I ran the reboot of my recent saved project in Cubase 14 Pro for 4 days and everything in the Room Simulator by Ambiente stayed put along with the Room the project was saved in. My final test will be made on Monday but as for now things are looking better.
I would like to thank Thor for running tests on his MAC having no issues. I will be sending my results to the Audio Modeling Team which I beta test for.

This is off-topic but are you sure Andrea from Italy is a girl? Most Italians named Andrea are guys.
That’s a very good question I only had one conference call with her and I was talking to a girl unless my eyes are going bad at 73 years old
I just spoke with LELE who is in Los Angeles and Andrea is a 50-year-old guy. Well that clears that one up and everything is going great in my studio. I will be getting ready to publish this original song and lyrics maybe a little bit later.
