Hello everyone,
Since my Dorico Pro free trial is over in a few days, I am trying to install the Dorico SE which as far as I can see has been activated in the Activation Manager app. How do I switch between Pro and SE though to open my project in SE rather than Pro? Or will the Pro be deactivated from the Activation Manager app automatically making SE the default version when I load Dorico 5? And will my project from Dorico Pro be lost when the free trail ends?
In a way, you don’t need to install SE separately. It’s the same physical application file on your HD. It just presents itself differently depending on your licence. I’m not entirely sure (I hope someone can confirm, or refute), but I think your trial version will automatically turn into an SE installation on its own, no re-installation needed. Maybe you need to re-assess the activation.
You can always open your projects in any version, nothing is lost, not even the advanced Pro features. You just can’t add or edit them anymore. But things like playback still work completely as before.
thank you for your reply, I hope that is the case also with Elements as I am most probably purchasing it!
I’m not sure about Windows, but on MacOS if you hold down Command while launching Dorico (Pro) it will launch as SE.
