Switch view galley and page view

I’ve just finished checking my engraving of a large orchestral score by Ravel, and… I was exasperated by this:

Check carried out in Condensed Page View; if you need to go back and check the details, you have to switch to Galley View, and then you always end up on the first page (galley view => page view or vice versa). Admittedly, if you select an object within that bar, the behaviour improves, except that you have to find an uncondensed part to make that selection.

I would very much like to see an improvement in future versions of Dorico (for example, being able to select a small item within condensed parts to mark the locus to be edited), so that one can switch display modes without ending up anywhere random, as this causes a considerable waste of time during editing.

Can you select a barline — does that work?

Yes. Of course.
There are times in life when you feel a bit silly… Thank you for the tip :face_in_clouds:

It’s so easy to overlook the obvious when we have something else in mind!:wink:

You may also find it useful to keep two windows open on your document, one in Galley view and one in Page view. There are pros and cons – certainly, the views don’t synchronize positions.
