Switching between windows: Playback stops

So, I don’t know if this is by design or it’s a bug:

I had a project open in Dorico and opened an older version of the project in a second Dorico instance. The second project was not activated, as I wanted to play the project in the first Dorico window and read along in the second.

But: When I start playback in the first window and click into the second, playback stops, although in the second window playback is not activated.

Maybe this has to do with both instances of the application using NotePerformer? I would not have expected any issues, since in the second window the audio engine is not activated…

Estigy, it would probably be easier to generate a pdf of your older project version and use that for proofing while you play the newer Dorico version?

Thanks, @k_b, I’m actually not asking for workarounds here. Just wanted to let the team know that even when a project is not activated, switching to it will stop playback on another Dorico instance.

(That’s the crux with giving too much details :joy: )

Yes, there is some logic behind it…
I have not worked with multiple windows in Dorico yet, as I can feel my computer struggling somehow.

This is the designed behaviour, at least for the time being.
