So, I don’t know if this is by design or it’s a bug:
I had a project open in Dorico and opened an older version of the project in a second Dorico instance. The second project was not activated, as I wanted to play the project in the first Dorico window and read along in the second.
But: When I start playback in the first window and click into the second, playback stops, although in the second window playback is not activated.
Maybe this has to do with both instances of the application using NotePerformer? I would not have expected any issues, since in the second window the audio engine is not activated…
Thanks, @k_b, I’m actually not asking for workarounds here. Just wanted to let the team know that even when a project is not activated, switching to it will stop playback on another Dorico instance.
