Switching from cubase 10 to cubase 14 on new computer

I have been running cubase Pro 10 on an old computer. I now have a new computer and want to upgrade to cubase Pro 14. At the same time, I have been using the e-licenser and now wish to switch to the new license arrangement. To compound the problem, I don’t have (or can’t recall that I have) a Steinberg account. So, can I just buy an upgrade to cubase Pro 14, or do I need to somehow load the old version of cubase Pro 10 on my new computer before buying the upgrade? If I buy this upgrade, will the e-licenser switch automatically to the new license arrangement? Thanks for any help. If there are documents that will help, please direct me to them.

You won’t need to install C10 on the new computer. You will need to connect the usb elicenser so the license can be verified and then the new license will be on the machine and usb elicenser only needed if you want to run 11 or earlier versions.
I would create an account and register your elicenser to it.

If you don’t have a Steinberg account, you can just create one and then register your eLicenser in it. If you get a message that the eLicenser is already registered, you probably already have an account and need to find out the email address.
The procedure for updating is described here:

You’ve created already an account to write here in the forum, you can simply use that for your online profile. They are linked

Thanks all for your replies. I’ve found that the e-licenser is linked to a Steinberg account that is link to an email address I can no longer access. So I’m scuppered!! I can’t link the e-licenser to the new account I have just set up to write to this forum because it is still linked to the old account.

Try opening a support ticket at Steinberg, I imagine people not having access anymore to their email account happens once in a while, so maybe they have a procedure there for you to prove that it’s you license and account…

Hi FESE,

Good suggestion. I will give it a go. Thanks
