Symphony no. 19

originally I wanted to write a work which was inspired by the somewhat post-romantic world of Silvestrov but it didn’t really turn out that way in the end. The longer second movement was in fact written first and the first is in some ways a portrait of our new dog with her high spirits, cheekiness but the central “Nachtmusic” is calmer, though with some anxieties and nightmares. It’s not exactly Christmassy but tries to give some optimism in a troubled world.
