The syncing between midi and the new score editor has improved since it was first released. But with 15.0.10 I still see some fundamental issues, e.g. the Split tool.
Obviously closing the re-opening the window or switching layouts refreshes it but it’s not practical to keep doing that after every edit I make just in case.
It seems updating the score is semi-automatic at present but in that case we really need a “refresh score” button/keystroke or some way of knowing that we are looking at stale data (perhaps there is a workaround for this I could map to a key command?).
Also, if I export that to Dorico the stale version gets exported so I’m not really getting the true state of the underlying project which can lead to errors in scores.
Attempting to upload a video here. So when you split and delete it would disappear for you automatically on the right hand side? I have to manually change layouts as I show here.
Note that in the first example I posted above with the screenshots, it was on a bar boundary (between bar 1 and 2) and still occured for me.
So it sounds like there may be some type of splitting operation that does update the score? It would be good to know under what conditions those are as it could be a potential workaround.
Thanks for the report Phil, and thanks Martin for looking at this in detail. As long as we’ve got clear repro steps, we should be able to get the Score Editor to refresh correctly. We certainly won’t be adding a “refresh score” button, as that shouldn’t be required once we fix this bug.
