Why are there system breaks in the middle of bars? I’ve already reset everything I can think of to factory settings, but it hasn’t helped.

Imports are always tricky.
I was messing around with this on my iPad and when I double tapped each time signature, it seemed to correct things until the next time change. Try selecting the time signatures by double clicking (so that they popover opens) and hit return. Does that help?

It seems to work if you re-apply the time signatures. Double click the 4/4 at the beginning, press Enter, double click the 7/8 bar 20, press enter, etc.
Edit: Sorry, just noticed that @jaskarbong was suggesting exactly the same!
There is a preference in Preferences > Note Input and Editing > Note Input, but I don’t know whether it affects music during import.
@charles_piano has the answer for fixing up your current file.
Wow! That worked! How would you even think of that? Thanks.
Thanks anyway
From similar threads I thought there might have been something wrong with the time signatures but when I got the popover open I didn’t see anything. So I hit return and, lo and behold, the end of the system was restored! So it was just “poke and hope” on my end! ![]()
