I’m finding useful things in this video mentioned in my Subject. However, I’m also missing out on a lot of other things. Since this video was posted in 2021, and I have Dorico Pro in 2024, I’m wondering if this is going to help me. I stumbled across this as I was searching for answers to making more room on each frame so I can have three systems instead of two.
Thanks for your thoughts. If there is a more current video with similar information, I’d just as soon watch it as invest over an hour in this one.

You can set the speed controls on YouTube. I find John Barron is more efficient at c. 1.25 x.

I’ve found this video very helpful and have gone back to it a few times. Well worth the time I spent.

There is also a subject listing that you can click on to jump to an area of interest.

I’ve found John Barron’s “Creating the Perfect Music Layout” of 2025 well-paced and focused, especially the last half’s discussion of fairly complex aspects of Dorico, and his explanations were clear.

I am so sad I didn’t find Discover Dorico before pushing through a project that had a timeline. Is there a URL that has all of the tutorials for 5.1.8?

Where can I find the answer to this question? If I import a Finale project, which works beautifully, at what point do I make changes to the layout? I’m blown away at how perfectly Dorico addresses Layouts. Now I want to apply it to projects that need attention. Would I do this before importing the XML file?

I have most boxes unticked under Dorico->Preferences->MusicXML Import, except for Text Items and Import other technical playing techniques.
You can also use Engrave mode->Engrave->Format Music Frames->Reset Layout.
