I am not sure what’s happening here. On the first page of the score, there are instrumental families grouped together and on the right of the score you can see the absence of the connecting bar line. The succeeding pages of the score do not adhere to the layout I set on the initial page. What am I missing, please?

Thanks for the tip. I just did as you suggested and the bracket change only shows at the beginning. That did not change anything, but now everything is showing properly. I don’t know why it changed its mind.
I just found that toggling between condensing and not condensing is making the difference. I need to look more closely to see what’s going on, but I’m open to suggestions.
The image is not clear enough to see what’s going on. Dorico will “break” the condensing if the phrases don’t follow the rules you have set – e.g. if there are too many crossing notes.
I’d recommend watching this video about Condensing.

It’s only been on my to do list for some time. I’ll definitely check it out. Thanks!
