Systemtext

Dear Colleagues,

I entered a system text in a score. It’s supposed to appear in all parts.

But I want it to appear above the tempo marking.

Here’s what I’ve tried:

I created a paragraph style (test)

I experimented with the “Apply Properties” command

I switched the properties to “Global”

When I change the arrangement in gravur mode, the change is only applied to the first line but not to the other parts.

What am I doing wrong? It should look like it does in the score and in the first violin part.

Thanks for your help.

Hi @frank.boehme,
here two methods:

  1. here the settings you need (you can customise the distance from staff value) for the paragraph style.
Use them and deactivate all offsets overrides for this text and also for the Tempo, in the properties panel:

    Dorico file example:
    test-10-Corrected.dorico (1.3 MB)
You may also want to increase the Flow Heading bottom margin for the flows that have such text (globally in Layout Options, or locally with Flow Heading override/s).

  1. Alternatively, if you don’t want to have such a big distance from staff in the Paragraph Style, after deactivating the Tempo and the text offsets overrides in the Properties Panel, you have to set the Properties Panel to Globally and use the Common Offset (instead of the Per-staff offset), to be able to have the same offset in the score and all the parts. You can then fine-adjust (with Locally) the Per-staff offsets in the individual parts if needed:

    Dorico file example 2:
    test-10-Corrected 2.dorico (1.3 MB)

Hi Christian,

Thank you very much for your help and instructions. I’m always impressed by how you illustrate the solution visually.

Have a great weekend!

Frank

(Then maybe mark @Christian_R’s post as the solution?)

You are welcome, @frank.boehme.
