My previous post I went over some of the tab options that Finale has and Dorico does not.
Having the option of hiding and collapsing tab like in Finale is needed …
for what I do which is guitar instruction charts, scale sheets, etc…
Since I moved to Dorico this is one of my main gripes and I hope they will include these in a future update ASAP.
What are your thoughts?
Thanks!
Perhaps I am misunderstanding what you are referring to. Can you please provide screenshots or pictures of what you want?

I guess basically the same as in OP’s previous feature request.
I use Dorico mainly for guitar teaching. I also am a Finale user before Dorico.
I am somewhat moving away from Finale because as we all know is out of development.
Some Tab features that Finale can do that would be good if Dorico could do like…
In Finale I was able to hide Tab in individual staves and even collapse the tab to measures that only had music in the measures. When using the Staff Tool if you right click the selected measure there a popup list. Number 12 is “Force Force Hide Staff …

You’ve already requested this, and since the developers read all posts, your request will be considered
Could you use cutaway? But the notation and tablature lines could not be linked, I think.

I think cutaways will hide both.

Would the cutaway hide both staves if they are not linked? Doing that would revisit the dear old Finale days of tablature.

Aren’t they always linked?

Boring workaround with two guitar players.
If you look at my previous and only post you can see screen shots
Thanks

Well, I suppose we guitar players have heard worse…
It was uncomplicated in Finale. If Finale did it then Dorico can do it. It was as simple “hide empty staves” or collapse them. Both with their own commands.
It is very easy in Dorico too. Yes, for the moment it requires a workaround (duplicate guitar player), but besides sometimes the need of copying the material to the staff above/below (doable with a select and a shortcut) there are no disadvantages.
I edited my post on the previous thread , and added a third option to use cutaways only for the TAB staff:
Thanks. I posted another request, and it has been 6 months, so hopefully they will be adding them to Dorico
