Tab to transient question

with the new tab to transient function in the audio editor on the view tab. Can I get an explanation of what is defined as a transient. When I hit tab it just seems to me to be a random selection of destinations, I cant figure out why it is choosing one transient over another, or skipping one over another…

Hi!

and I’m sure there is more explanation found on the net or in here…

In all cases, what WaveLab finds is a suggestion. You have to confirm if the potential spot suits you. Also, this feature works best for obvious transients, not for vague ones.

Unfortunately isn’t very accurate :smiling_face_with_tear:

This feature has been a valuable addition to WL, as it provides approximate start points.

It depends on the audio material. The goal is to have good starting hints quickly, rather than finding the ultimate cue points, which may require human evaluation.

Propellerheads Recycle has transient sensitivity.

This is a good specialized tool. The approach of WaveLab was different: to provide a “no setting”, no-brainer, universal approach.
