I am sure i am missing something here but I can’t find a solution in the online documentation or in the forum.

I needed to make up a trumpet part today - just that, not a score.

The trumpet doesn’t actually play anything for about 13 bars, but I needed to put various cues/text etc. at the beginning of bar 1, 4, 6 and 9.

Dorico insists on concatenating all the empty bars together and putting a big TACET notice across the multiple bars and I could not find a way to split these up so that the the multiple bar numbers read for example: 1/2/2/3/etc.

You can temporarily switch off multi-bar rests on the Players page of Layout Options, then add the various markings etc. you want to appear, then turn that option back on again to reconsolidate the multi-bar rests around the newly-added markings.
