An option to tap tempo on the numeric keypad using the corresponding note value keys to drop tempo anchors.
Example while scoring a film: Play back a scene which starts with a quicker pace so I’d be tapping 7 for half notes, as the pacing of the scene slows down I’d start tapping 6 for quarters and eventually 5 for eighths.

Perhaps by default Dorico creates a smooth bezier line which we can adjust the slopes of. We can adjust the taps individually or bulk, with maybe little checkboxes on each tap mark so we can choose to have some ignored without deleting them
That is for a static tempo though, correct? I am talking about a tempo which changes with accel and rit as it goes
And the reason I mentioned being able to tap on different note values as it goes, like when conducting, suddenly subdividing for a smoother picture of the pacing

Hi Janus, I think there’s a misunderstanding here. This is not what I’m asking for. I am asking for the ability to create the tempo markings as the video is playing, to quickly perform and create a tempo map in realtime. And to do so using varying note values for a smoother realization of the changes.
The way you’re showing works but it is slow and the results are less than ideal. The example you shared itself is linear which is often not what I’d want. I’m suggesting a way for when a scene needs to be more rubato throughout but also needs more structure than simply putting stripes on a film for playback.
