Hi Daniel,
Please find the Dorico file and the expression maps in the attachment. I always load my instruments in a VE Pro instance, but I guess that doesn’t make much of a difference. Expression map used for this test is VSL Trumpets.
I hope you can find where the problem lies.

You don’t have a “Natural” entry in your expression map, and that’s messing everything up. Add one, and hopefully that will set things straight.
what Daniel is saying is correct. Although there are “natural” entries, they are all combined with another patch – there must be a “natural” on its own (it can be qualified with a condition – that’s fine), otherwise Dorico doesn’t know how to reset. I know from early experience of once having created a map without a “natural”.
You’re correct that it makes no difference if the instruments are hosted in VE Pro
Thanks, I didn’t know there has to be a dedicated natural expression in the map. I thought doing it like this (natural + …) would be sufficient. Well, I guess the saying ‘never to old to learn’ can be used here
