Templates not working properly in CB Pro 15

Tearing my hair out here.

I downloaded some templates for an addon, put them the CB Pro 15 Template folder. They show up in the Hub under Templates, and I can load them. Fine.

I load a project using one, change a couple of settings, then Save as Template, overwriting the original template.

No sign of the template in the Hub any more. The new version of the template exists, but doesn’t appear in the Hub, even after restarting CB.

Seems like a bug.

So has anyone found a way to modify a template and save it as a template so that it still shows in the Hub?

Regards,

In fact, it seems to be a Hub issue.

There’s a different behavior.

Before: I open Cubase (using a custom path), create my PROJECT NAME (where it says Project Folder), and click Create.

Now: I open Cubase, go to Hub settings (using a custom path), create my PROJECT NAME (where it says Project Folder), and click Create.

I’m adding this because I’m doing it from memory, but is it just me, or do I have to click extra to get to the same place? Maybe I should post this in another thread? Is anyone else having this problem?

I find that the revised, saved template does show in the Hub again without restarting the computer. Instead, just closing CB and waiting a few minutes then trying again, and it is back.

But that obviously is not good enough. No idea what CB is doing that it cannot see a present file in a folder immediately, and without restarting CB!

Also, although saving a template makes a ‘Track Pictures’ folder for that template, CB makes no attempt to save my track pictures at all in a template.

Sloppy programming.

Can we get the basics right Steinberg please. FAR too much energy being wasted on gimmicks while the core program continues to suffer from lack of focus on the basics.

Such a shame. But I doubt they will listen yet again.

These basics need to be reliable and robust otherwise users lose countless hours trying to work out what is going on with their precious data and time.

Also, I now spot that having made a project with a template, edited and saved that template AS A TEMPLATE, that template shows up in RECENT projects. Why?

And why do templates use the same ‘cpr’ file extension as project files. Seems an obvious recipe for confusion and disaster. Surely ‘cpt’ would be much more robust and less prone to error.

Have you tried this?

Hi,

Are you all on Windows, right? I am unable to replicate the issue on my end on a Mac.
