Hi all.

Using Cubase 14 I’ve a track that’s just audio and recorded at 82.750 bpm. No midi. Somebody has sent me a midi file to import. However it was recorded at 136 bpm. Obviously won’t fit with the audio

. So I’ve disabled musical mode in Cubase thinking the audio will stay at the recorded tempo ( which it does when increasing the bpm) however when I change the project tempo to 136 bpm and import the midi file and despite lining up the midi to start at the same time as the audio they are clearly out or sync. Any help would be greatly appreciate

Midi files usually follow the project tempo.. It doesn’t matter at which tempo they were recorded. So you should be fine by setting your project to 82.750bpm.
Exemption: if the midi file was not recorded to a click to begin with. Then you would have to manually set it to a grid first. I would do this in a separate project. The edited midi tracks could then be imported from said project.
