Is there a way to change my project tempo without changing the tempo of the vst instrument? I found a sound I liked with the default project tempo at 120, but when I changed the tempo to fit my drums it changed the whole sound of my vst instrument. Is there a way to to set my instrument track back to 120 and keep the tempo of the project to fit my drums?
Yes if your VSTi offers the option to not follow the host tempo, e.g. like ezdrummer2.

I don’t know yet. Do you have a midi event to trigger your vsti? You can use the time stretch tool (press two times the “1” key) to fit it to your project tempo.
