Tempo function not working

Hi, suddenly my tempos arent working. ex, “Shift T q = 163” No matter what i enter, it plays back at some ridiculously fast speed.

Thanks

Well, q=163 is pretty fast!

Did you accidentally enable fixed tempo mode? In the top toolbar, if the tempo indicator has an = sign, then it’s in fixed tempo mode, which will override tempos set in the score.

If you click on the quarter note that section, then the = will change to a pair of arrows, and Dorico will respect the tempos in the score (follow tempo mode).

hi sorry, that isn’t the tempo haha. i just wrote whatever in so that you knew i was entering correctly. The real tempo is h = 63. It plays back at a very fast speed no matter what i enter. My tempo indicator has no = sign but there is weirdness in the row of Tempo indications below that (Andante, Moderato, etc) looks kinda corrupted. Im sending ss

thank you

That may be just a graphic glitch. Try to move the two dots to extend/reduce the shown tempi text markings in the list, so maybe it refreshes the view:

This issue can be also caused by changing the fonts for Tempo (immediate) markings. To see better this situation and the other issue, please upload the Dorico project that presents the issues you mentioned.

Ive uploaded the Dorico document where i am having the tempo issue. Thank you

Thank you for the file, @faucetmusic424.

I don’t see an issue in the tempo list on the right.

And your set tempo h=63 seems to behave as expected. Here is how it sounds on my system. It is different for you?:

Thanks for doing that. I’m an idiot, i just rushed through creating this today, and that tempo should read quarter = 63! Sorry about that. My Tempo column on the right is still weird but I can work with it. Thanks again

Mark

Sorry for that…, this seems to be an infrequent but known issue:
