Tempo Map Import affects Spacing

After importing a very fluid tempo map, Dorico makes the measure where many changes occur very wide on the part, although it is an empty bar:

In engrave mode, with Note Spacing editor selected, the bar looks like this:

I can’t delete the tempo map - the music needs to sync with a DAW session.

Any idea why it affects the spacing at all, and what can be done about it?

Thanks!

Hi @roeeli,
In your second screenshot the two barline control points are red: this means you edited them manually (with the move shortcuts). Select them and press delete, to make them blue again and eliminate so the spacing overrides. See if this reestablishes the normal spacing:

If this doesn’t help, you can edit the note spacing for that bar with the appropriate control points and the moving shortcuts (alt+arrows or command+alt+arrows, etc…)

Or you can create a Note Spacing Change for bar 4, creating first a Note Spacing Change, set to Reset, at bar 5 so the spacing afterwards will not be influenced.

It would be interesting to see a Cut down version of the file (just those couple of bars, with the many note spacing control points). Actually if you make the tempo or metronome markings invisible (not shown) in the properties panel, the many note spacing control points should not appear in Note Spacing.

The red dots are from me trying to fix the problem - deleting them doesn’t help. I will try to create a small file with the problem to upload. Thanks :folded_hands:
