Tempo Marking Question

Hello,

Finale refugee here. I am looking to create a tempo marking with a rhythmic equation together but can’t seem to figure it out. I haven’t found anything in the manual or on the forum. Pardon me if it’s there but I can’t seem to find it.

My example is something like L’istesso Tempo quarter = quarter but instead of the word quarter, I would like quarter notes to be shown in their stead. Thanks!

Welcome to the forum.

You could enter two tempo marks at slightly different rhythmic positions (because you cannot add text to a tempo equation and you cannot have two tempo marks at the same place)

Shift-t L’istesso tempo
followed by
Shift-t (q=q)

Have a look at this

Thank you, this does the trick unless I am missing something more specific

I should also add that neither of these particular markings will affect the playback tempo, so exactly where they are placed in immaterial.

However, if you need to do something like this…

… you should suppress playback of the tempo equation.
