Tempo Track and Time Stretch

Hi Guys,
This is my first post as a Cubase 7 user so be gentle. Up and running just this week.
When I try to change the fixed tempo in the control panel all tracks that contain time stretched events revert back to their pre-stretched length. If I try to change it on the Tempo Track, it lets me change the value but when I hit play, it instantly reverts back to the old tempo. This doesn’t seem like it should be that tough, it’s just a simple global tempo change. The operations manual isn’t much help.

Maybe because some of the events are preset loops, I have to time stretch again to alter tempo? Anyone know of a tempo track workaround for this?
