Would like to add a one-line percussion staff above a harp grand staff. Is this possible. I know how to add a regular staff, but can’t find a control to turn it into a one-line percussion staff.

I’m overthinking things. No need to add a percussion instrument to the harpist, just add a percussion player, and add that player to the Harp layout.
With this settings the Harp is always visible, the percussion line only if it contains notes
And at a system break you can force the percussion staff to be visible, even if its empty
