Temporary Tool Shortcuts

It would be great if Cubase supported temporary tool shortcuts, similar to Bitwig.

For example, if P is assigned to the Pencil tool:

  • Press P → switch permanently to Pencil.
  • Hold P → temporarily use Pencil.
  • Release P → return to the previously selected tool.

This could work with tools like Eraser tool, Glue, Mute, Range, etc.

This would make editing much faster by allowing tools to function as modifier tools when held, without constantly switching back and forth.
